Dreckig ist so eine Angelegenheit und genau so erdig beginnt das aktuelle Werk des Australiers und seiner Band. So eing&auml;ngig wie der erste Song ist zwar nicht das ganze Album, doch die Bandbreite zwischen Rock, Balladen und Indie-Rock ist Nick Cave seit <i>Let Love In<\/i> (1994) nicht mehr so gut gelungen. Nach den rockigen ersten beiden St&uuml;cken besticht Cave bei <i>Moonland<\/i> damit, was er am besten kann: Songs schreiben, die so herrlich beil&auml;ufig klingen, dass sie kaum zu fassen sind. <i>Night Of The Lotus Eaters <\/i>hingegen bildet die Br&uuml;cke zum zweiten Abschnitt des Albums, dass mit <i>Albert Goes West<\/i> den groovigen Rock vom Anfang wieder aufnimmt.<\/p>\n<p>Textlich bewegt sich Cave haupts&auml;chlich im Bereich Glaube, Religi&ouml;sit&auml;t und Liebe, warum es jeweils genau geht, ist bei dem Wirrwarr aus Bildern und Metaphern nur schwer auszumachen, aber das macht den Reiz des Werks des nach eigenen Aussagen &quot;besten lebenden Songwriters&quot; aus. So richtig erschlie&szlig;t sich das Album erst nach mehrmaligen H&ouml;ren und immer wieder kommen neue Erkenntnisse hinzu. Wer schnell einen Zugang zum Cave&#8217;schen Meisterwerk haben m&ouml;chte, dem seien <i>Jesus Of The Moon, Moonland<\/i> und <i>Hold On To Yourself <\/i>als Anspieltipps empfohlen.<\/p>\n<a
